Lorentis accepted into EuroCDP, the EU Chips Design Platform coordinated by imec
Acceptance into EuroCDP gives Lorentis streamlined access to European chip design tools, IP, prototyping and training as we move our photonic and ASIC designs toward silicon.
In June 2026, Lorentis Electronics was accepted into EuroCDP, the European Chips Design Platform. EuroCDP is a flagship initiative under the EU Chips Act, funded by the Chips Joint Undertaking and coordinated by imec together with a consortium of European partners.
What is EuroCDP?
EuroCDP is built to lower the barriers to chip design for startups, SMEs and research teams. It offers a one-stop route to what a young chip company needs: electronic design automation (EDA) tools, design IP, expert support, prototyping through multi-project wafer runs, fabrication, packaging, testing and training, with pre-negotiated access that saves months of licensing work.
Why it matters for Lorentis
- Faster path to silicon for the readout electronics and photonic integrated circuits behind our silicon photonic gyroscope.
- Access to design tools and IP that strengthens our ASIC design services for customers.
- A European network of foundries, design enablement teams and fellow chip startups.
Europe is investing in chip design because whoever designs the chip defines the product. Joining EuroCDP puts Lorentis inside that effort and shortens our road from design to working silicon.Mustafa Kaykısız, CEO & Co-founder, Lorentis Electronics
Building on our foundry relationships
EuroCDP complements the design and R&D access agreements Lorentis already has with imec, X-FAB and TSMC, and our status as an Altera Design Partner. Together they give our ten-person engineering team at Teknopark İstanbul the tools to design competitive chips from Türkiye.
